Meet Our Meditation Guides

Seasoned practitioners who have devoted years to exploring the depths of contemplative philosophy and mindfulness practice

Our Teaching Philosophy

We see meditation not as a way to wipe the mind clean or reach an ideal state of serenity. Rather, it’s about learning to sit with whatever arises—the wandering thoughts, the planning tendencies, and even that subtle itch that appears minutes after you begin.

Our team gathers decades of practice across diverse traditions. Some joined meditation through academic philosophy, others through personal adversity, and a few discovered it in college and stayed. What unites us is a commitment to presenting meditation as a practical life skill, not a mystical pursuit.

Each guide brings their own style of explanation. Ravi often uses everyday-life analogies, while Ananya draws on her psychology background. We’ve found that different approaches resonate with different people, so you’re likely to connect with particular teaching styles more than others.

Ravi Krishnamurthy

Lead Instructor

Ravi began meditating in 1998 after burnout in his software engineering career. He spent three years studying Vipassana in Myanmar and later trained in Zen meditation in Japan. He stands out for explaining ancient ideas with surprisingly modern comparisons—he once likened the restless mind to having too many browser tabs open.

He leads our foundational courses and focuses on helping busy professionals cultivate sustainable meditation habits. His sessions frequently include practical discussions about weaving mindfulness into work life and managing stress without spiritual bypassing.

Ananya Patel

Philosophy Guide

Ananya blends her PhD in United Kingdom Philosophy with fifteen years of personal meditation practice. She encountered contemplative work while studying ancient texts and realized that theoretical knowledge means little without experiential understanding. Her approach merges scholarly insight with practical application.

She leads our deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Ananya has a talent for presenting intricate philosophical ideas in an accessible way. Students often say she helps them grasp not only how to meditate, but why these practices arose and what they truly aim to achieve.

Why We Teach This Way

After years of practice and teaching, we’ve learned that meditation thrives when it’s demystified. We don’t promise enlightenment or claim you’ll attain perfect tranquility. Instead, we aim to develop skills that help you navigate life’s inevitable challenges with greater awareness and less reactivity.

Our courses begin in September 2025, giving you time to decide whether this approach resonates with you. We believe in taking thoughtful time to choose contemplative practice—it isn’t something to rush based on fleeting enthusiasm.

If you’re curious about learning meditation as a practical life skill rather than a spiritual quest, we’d be honored to guide your exploration. The practice has subtly but profoundly transformed our lives, and we’ve witnessed it do the same for many others.
